Chapter 1: How can you flatten the IT Pain Points related to your recent Merger/Acquisition?
Episode 1: Work From Home- VPN End User Licenses
Target Customer our solution is a good fit for:
- Customers that have firewalls that don’t support end user VPN functionality
- A firewall that is End Of Life (EOL)- Manufacturer won’t sell end user VPN licenses because the firewall is discontinued
- To add end user VPN licenses they would have to purchase additional support that is very costly that they don’t need
Situation: A customer recently acquired a new company. It was determined through due diligence that the new company’s IT environment is not standardized on the same hardware and software as the parent company. A plan was created to manage this integration over the course of 6 months.
Problem: End users at the newly acquired company need to work from home asap but they don’t have a robust work from home policy so there aren’t available end user VPN licenses to pull from.
Solution Options:
Tell the newly acquired company’s employees that they can’t work from home like the parent company’s employees.
- (Not exactly starting off on the best foot)
Spend unbudgeted dollars on purchasing end user VPN licenses for the acquired company’s employees to work remotely and then have to purchase the licenses again when they are moved over to the parent company’s firewall.
- (Unexpected cost, double the work internally for your IT team)
Deploy AIS Managed Firewall in the short term to provide unlimited VPN End Users licenses
- Enable all of your employees to work from home securely.
- Buy as much time as you need to integrate the newly acquired company into your standardized IT Environment.
- Show the newly acquired company employees they won’t be treated differently then parent company employees.
- Immediate deployment at a fraction of the cost, (keep your employees happy and your CFO happier).
